Saltus, Joan A.

Joan A. Saltus, 84, of Granby, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Apple Rehab in Colchester. Born in Hartford on March 8, 1940, the daughter of Andrew and Alice Kobza. She was a 1958 graduate of Simsbury High School. Joan married the love of her life Edward S. Saltus in 1961, for many years she stayed home to lovingly raise and care for her family. After her children were grown, she returned to work at Carris Reels in Enfield. Her favorite time of year was March Madness and loved following college basketball. She was thrilled to have UCONN Men's and Woman's in the hunt this year. She also loved cheering on the Red Sox. Joan is survived by her children, her son, Jeffrey E. Saltus and his wife Mariann of Hebron and their sons; Ryan of South Pasadena, CA and Michael Saltus of Salem, CT, her daughter, Alison Lydon and her husband Michael and their son; Edward Lydon (Ted) of Hebron, her granddaughter, Ashley R. Barstis of Westfield, MA and her daughter; Jade Val Da Serra of West Springfield, MA. Joan was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Edward S. Saltus, her son, Gary D. Saltus and her brother Andrew Kobza Jr. Joan's family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4-7PM at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035.
