Outstanding high school sports performances are on display every week in Connecticut. To honor those athletes, each week the Hartford Courant sports staff will nominate three boys and three girls from local schools as CT Varsity Athlete of the Week finalists.
Vote for this week’s finalists below at Courant.com/ctvarsity where the winners will be announced on Tuesday and appear in the Hartford Courant on Wednesday.

Week 1 Winners
Raquan Tompkins, Football
East Hartford senior led his team to a 41-7 win over South Windsor with 152 yards rushing, five touchdowns.
Jenna Zydanowicz, Cross Country
Hall junior won the Haddad Windham Invitational varsity 1 race on Saturday in 18:25, a full minute faster than her winning time last year.
Week 2 Finalists
Terrence Bogan, Football
Sheehan-Wallingford junior rushed for 319 yards and four touchdowns in a win over Stratford.
Abram Rosario, Soccer
Windham Tech senior had two goals and three assists in a win over Parish Hill and three goals and another assist in a win over Vinal Tech.
Drew Daniels, Football
Glastonbury senior completed five passes, all of which went for touchdowns in a win over South Windsor.
Zoe Baker, Swimming And Diving
Hall-West Hartford sophomore set the school’s diving record with a 243.65 in a 90-85 win over Windsor.
Krystyna Miller, Soccer
Plainville sophomore scored five goals in a win over Bristol Eastern.
Natasha Silva, Volleyball
Farmington senior had 12 assists in a win over Coventry, 12 assists in a win over Platt and 28 assists in a win over Glastonbury.
