Infosys, Trinity Ally On Training
Coursework For Students, Tech Workers In Plan
Infosys, an India-based software company planning a regional hub in Hartford, and Trinity College announced Thursday a partnership to draw up educational programs preparing liberal arts students and Infosys employees for digital workplaces.
The Trinity-Infosys Applied Learning Initiative will provide opportunities for Trinity College students, engage faculty and alumni and train Infosys employees, the company and Hartford college said.
The school will work with the company to develop content that draws on Trinity’s liberal arts programs with technology promoted by Infosys.
The collaboration will include learning opportunities for Infosys employees and Trinity alumni, a possible summer program for liberal arts students from Trinity and elsewhere to acquire skills in technology, and jointly designing and piloting new digital technologies to advance a liberal arts education.
Ravi Kumar, president and deputy chief operating officer at Infosys, said the partnership will add “immense value” to the technology consulting industry and address a skills gap.
Joanne Berger-Sweeney, president of Trinity College, said the arrangement will serve as a national model for “leveraging the liberal arts in creating the future of work.”
Trinity will use its new downtown Hartford site as part of its work with Infosys.
