Let All Candidates Debate
We have now had two debates between only two candidates running for governor. There are, however, more candidates who were not invited to the debates because they did not poll more than 10 percent. These candidates are on the ballot and should be participating in the debates.
The debates we have had so far were almost useless, and we still do not have definitive information from either of these candidates as to their plans for the future of our state. Sniping at each other and calling each other names does not help us make a decision. This is not a high school election. We have to make an important decision on the future of our state. All candidates should have a chance to share their ideas — and only their ideas, not insults.
How can Connecticut citizens make a decision about who is best qualified to help our state recover if we are not allowed to hear all of the candidates on the ballot? If they are qualified to be on the ballot, they should also participate in the debates. We need to make it happen.
