Lamont’s Economic Plan
Lamont released a five-part plan Wednesday to create jobs and kickstart the state’s economy.
Lamont released the 10-page plan by email and did not hold a press conference on the issue.
The multipronged plan calls for cutting some taxes, increasing job training and “sparking an urban renaissance.”
That includes eliminating the business entity tax, which has been criticized by both Republicans and Democrats through the years. In addition, small businesses that have less than $10,000 in business personal property, such as computers, would no longer need to pay the personal property tax.
The plan does not say how Lamont would pay for the tax cuts.
A cable television entrepreneur who started a company more than 30 years ago, Lamont says he can work with both business and labor at the same time.
“Connecticut needs a governor who understands how to leverage all of our assets to bring new companies and talent to Connecticut,” he said.
