MANCHESTER — A Manchester man pulled a knife on a package store customer after the customer and a store worker confronted him for an attempted car burglary, police said.

Darron Littleton, 33, of 82 Wilford Road, was arrested on charges that include second-degree robbery and threatening. Littleton was being held Monday on $100,000 bail for a court appearance set for Nov. 15.

According to police, the incident happened Thursday afternoon at Mack’s Wine & Liquors, 809 Hartford Road. A store worker said a customer told her that a man was going through the worker’s car outside the store. Another customer, a friend of the store worker, told police he had pulled into the parking lot and saw the man enter his friend’s car and look around in the cup holder area, police said.

The employee went outside and asked the man, who turned out to be Littleton, what he was doing in her car, police said. Littleton tried to run, but she grabbed his shirt, and the other customer also grabbed and held onto Littleton, police said.

They brought Littleton back inside the store, but when the clerk tried to call police, Littleton grabbed her phone, she told police. She told another customer to call police. The man who had helped the clerk restrain Littleton said Littleton then pulled out a pocket knife, pointed it at him and said, “I’m gonna stick you,” the police report says. The customer said he told Littleton “that was what he was going to have to do,” police said.

Lilttleton then pocketed the knife and said he was going to call his mother, the police report said. Police arrived shortly after.
