For 2nd year in a row, Travelers earns Players Choice Award.

For the second consecutive year, the Travelers Championship earned the Players Choice Award, which is voted on by PGA Tour members for its services, hospitality, attendance and quality of the course.

“On behalf of the PGA Tour, I am pleased to congratulate the Travelers Championship for this special recognition,” PGA Chief Tournaments and Competitions Officer Andy Pazder said in a release. “The tournament com- mittee should be extremely proud of its hard work and innovation in making the tournament the best among its peers on Tour.”

The tournament, which prides itself on taking feedback from players, caddies and media members, also offers charter flights to players and family members to ease the travel from the U.S. Open, which is played the week before the Travelers.

“This award is incredibly meaningful to us because it comes directly from the players on the PGA Tour, and we work hard to deliver a word-class experience for them,” said Travelers tournament director Nathan Grube in a release.

Since Travelers took over as title sponsor in 2007, the tournament has won 14 Tour awards, including Tournament of the Year in 2017.

“I would say that Travelers, when they came in as title [sponsor], they started this culture of ‘whatever we do, we just want to make sure we’re trying to get better every year,’ ” Grube told The Courant this year.
