Satur­day: Black Wolves win at Calgary

Stephan Leblanc led the way with nine points on three goals and six as­sists and Reilly O’Con­nor tied his ca­reer high with four goals as the New Eng­land Black Wolves de­feated the Calgary Rough­necks 16-10 on Satur­day night at the Sco­tia­bank Sad­dle­dome in Calgary, Al­berta. O’Con­nor also had two as­sists in the win for New Eng­land (2-1), while Cal­lum Craw­ford picked up eight points on two goals and six as­sists. In net, Doug Jamieson recorded his first ca­reer vic­tory, mak­ing a ca­reer-best 45 saves. The Black Wolves opened a 4-0 lead over the first six min­utes of play, with goals from Seth Oakes, David Brock, O’Con­nor and Leblanc. Calgary (3-2) an­swered with a goal from Dane Dob­bie with 4:24 re­main­ing in the first, but Leblanc picked up his sec­ond of the night 1:27 later to put New Eng­land back up by four. For­mer Rough­neck Tyler Digby in­creased the Black Wolves’ lead 58 sec­onds later and Dob­bie scored again for Calgary as New Eng­land closed out the first with a 6-2 ad­van­tage. The Black Wolves will re­turn to ac­tion Satur­day, host­ing the Ge­or­gia Swarm at 7 p.m. at Mo­he­gan Sun Arena.
