Jets send Ducks to 11th straight loss
Bryan Little scored at 4:49 of overtime to give the Jets a 4-3 victory over the Ducks on Sunday in Winnipeg, Manitoba, extending the Ducks’ franchise-record losing streak to 11 games. Blake Wheeler, Patrik Laine and Ben Chiarot also scored and Connor Hellebuyck made 28 saves to help the Jets improve to 5-2-0 in their last seven games. Brian Gibbons, Rickard Rakell and Andrew Cogliano scored and John Gibson stopped 30 shots for the Ducks. They’re 0-7-4 during the skid. Chiarot tied it at 3 with 5:55 left in the third period with a bouncing shot that went past Gibson. The Ducks led 2-1 after the first period and 3-2 after two.
■ Sebastian Aho tallied his first hat trick of the season and added an assist to help the Hurricanes beat the Predators 6-3. The Hurricanes won for the seventh time in eight games . ... G Braden Holtby practiced less than 24 hours after taking a stick to his left eye during the Capitals’ 2-1 OT loss to the Blue Jacktes. Holtby left the game and didn’t return. But Sunday, he said the injury, which he called “a scratch,” was “progressing the right way.” Caps coach Todd Reirden said Holtby would be re-evaluated.
