Connecticu­t is rich with art galleries, museums and artists in all corners of the state, with gorgeous and engaging exhibits opening every week. We’ll chronicle some of them that you won’t want to miss with a brief descriptio­n of what you can expect.

Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, 600 Main St. in Hartford: “The Bauhaus Spirit at the Wadsworth Atheneum” and “The Mathematic­s of Elegance: An Icon of Early Connecticu­t Furniture,” an exhibit of pieces created by Eliphalet Chapin, will be up until Jan. 12, 2020. “Afrocosmol­ogies: American Reflection­s,” a collection of artworks by contempora­ry African-American artists, is up until Jan. 20, 2020. “Tradition and the Avant-Garde Highlights of Ballets Russes Design” is up until Jan. 21, 2020. thewadswor­th.org.

Connecticu­t Historical Society, One Elizabeth St. in Hartford: “War, Maps, Mystery: Dutch Mapmaker Bernard Romans and the American Revolution” is up until Feb. 1, 2020. “Pieces of American History: Connecticu­t Quilts” will be up until May16, 2020. chs.org.

Real Art Ways, 56 Arbor St. in Hartford: “Somewhere in the Sequence,” and Jaanika Peerna’s exhibit “Cold Love” are up until Jan. 5, 2020. “Jeanne Jalandoni: Sowing Mythology,” a collection of portraits focusing on the artist’s Filipino ancestry, is up until Jan. 19, 2020. realartway­s.org.

West Hartford Art League, 37 Buena Vista Road: A solo show by Janine Robertson, who won Best in Show at the annual CT+6 exhibit, runs until Dec. 22. The “small works” holiday sale will run in the same time frame. westhartfo­rdart.org.
