Items include Mexican tortilla soup, chips and a trio of salsas, build your own tacos with beef and chicken, and cinnamon flan for dessert. Add a margarita kit for $30 (a bottle of El Jimador Reposado and choice of margarita mix in regular, watermelon or grapefruitpomegranate flavors) or a Michelada kit for $16, with a six-pack of Dos Equis and spicy Michelada mix. Onion Mountain Kitchen, 220 Albany Turnpike, Canton, offers family taco meals for $25 (10 tacos; feeds 4) with a choice of one or two meats: grilled chicken, carnitas pork or spicy jerk pork. Los Charros Cantina, 30 Main St., Centerbrook, offers build-your-own taco kits for Cinco de Mayo through The Essex Market’s online marketplace. The $40 kit features ingredients for 10 tacos, including flour tortillas; a filling choice of chicken, al pastor, braised short rib and mushrooms; and cotija cheese, salsa, crema, limes and beans. Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill, with locations in Fairfield and New Haven, celebrates five days of Cinco from May 1 to 5. In addition to the a la carte takeout menu, Geronimo offers a $50 Cinco Package, with chicken tamales, short rib flautas, tequila marinated shrimp corn tlayuda, pork carnitas tacos, goat cheese mushrooms and Mexican donuts. Add chips and guac for $12. Other options include margarita kits: a mini-kit for $49 with a pint of Hornitos blanco; nips of Cointreau, fresh mix, lime, salt and a cocktail shaker; or $100 for a party kit, with 1 liter of Herradura blanco, Cointreau, fresh mix, lime, salt and chips and guacamole.
