AAA aids first responders

Locally, AAA has been offering first responders who are not members free road service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This offer will continue through the end of May, according to Amy Parmenter, AAA’s manager of public and government affairs for greater Hartford. Parmenter called these first responders, “our local heroes.” Parmenter also noted that AAA has seen a significant increase in road service calls for dead batteries. Most cars will usually start after having been parked for two to three weeks, but others will not. To avoid a dead battery, plan of taking a 20-minute drive every week or two, or use a battery trickle charger while the car is parked.
