Terrence O'brien Ahearn, 51, of Old Saybrook and formerly West Hartford, died peacefully Monday, July 19, 2021, after a brief illness. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Donald P. Ahearn and Alice Ann Whitaker, he was raised in West Hartford and graduated from Watkinson School in 1988. A man of many interests, T loved all music and movies. He visited most of the United States by car and often with one of his faithful Standard Poodles. He spent his winters in Lafayette to be closer to his brother Doug who predecease­d him in 2014. He was an avid collector of many items but especially comic books and fantasy miniatures War Hammer. Always up for a new adventure, he built a house in Bloomfield, which he took great pride in. Terrence took up ballroom dancing, winning many competitio­ns, and studied Tai Chi for decades. He served as a Trustee of the Ahearn Family Foundation since 1995. A foundation that assisted programs that serve the poor, support the arts, and enhanced education in Hartford. A devoted son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, he will me missed by his sister-in-law, Debra Lea; nephew, Stephen Lea; niece, Courtney Lea; his best friend Michael Miller; and his longtime devoted associate Cathy D'amato. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 25th at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford from 11 am – 1 pm followed by words of remembranc­e.
