Donald J. Grenier Sr., 84, of Vernon, loving husband of 57 years of Annette (Guimond) Grenier, passed away at home on July 16, 2021, with his family by his side. He was born June 26, 1937, in Hartford, son of the late Hector and Blanche (Hooper) Grenier. Don was in raised in Hartford, attended local schools and was a graduate of Hartford Public High School.

Donald enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1963. For over ten years, he worked as a traffic manager with Novemco of Simsbury and as a project manager at Freestyle Builders of Vernon up until his retirement in 2001. Donald was a longtime Communican­t of Saint Bernard Church in Rockville. He was a member of the Rockviille Elks and enjoyed playing softball and bowling with TKB Club. Don was a huge

Red Sox fan and was an avid golfer in his earlier years.

In addition to his beloved Annette, Donald is survived by his son, Donald “Joe” Grenier, Jr. of Manchester, his in-laws and many nieces, nephews: and their families. In addition to his parents, Donald was predecease­d by his siblings, Dan, Jack, Lorraine and Diana and his longtime friend, Gloria Caron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard's Terrace in Rockville on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11 :00 am. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville. A reception will follow the burial at The Lodge at Maneeley's, located at 65 Rye St. South Windsor, CT 07074.
