“Do I Know You”
Anthony Reynoso, 16, of Hartford, beloved son of Jennifer Melissa Alvelo and Carlos Joel Díaz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, after a courageous ten year battle with brain cancer.
Anthony was born in Hartford on June 26, 2005, attended local schools, and was currently attending Classical Magnet High School. He received a Mental Health Hero award from the University of St. Joseph, and his wish was to one day be a therapist.
Anthony was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and good friend. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and his encouraging mantra, “Think Positive - Stay Positive,” which carried him through his illness and kept him fighting. He was a bright light in the many lives he touched in such a short time. Anthony had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to tell jokes and funny stories. His favorite color was red, and his favorite sports team was the San Francisco 49ers. Anthony also had a love for music and singing, he especially enjoyed singing with his mom to the likes of Ed Sheeran.
In addition to his mom, Jennifer, and father, Carlos, who have an ache in their hearts with his passing, he is also survived by his brother's keeper, Yoel Karlos Diaz; maternal grandmother, Maria Carmen Jimenez;maternal grandfather, Luis Antonio Alvelo; paternal grandmother, Madeline Diaz; maternal step-grandfather, Heldilberto Rosas-villabal; aunts and uncles, Luisalvelo, Sheyla Alvelo, Cristofer Alvelo, Michael Jimenez, Kathrine Jimenez, Stephanie Jimenez, Ashley Jimenez, Alberto Gonzalez, Willie Diaz, Araisa Franqui, Aaron Burke, Lourdes Molina, Ashley Hicks, Dorca Couvertier, Eric Spencer, and Vely Rosado ; cousins, Giovanni, D'andre, De'nali, Ai'lani, Analiyah, Jaylene, Jayden, Leilani, Jocelyn, London, Emiliani, Paris, Adonis, Ny'ziah, Dailisse, Jerimiah, Jalyn, Ra'manie, and Ky'zaih; and many other relatives and good friends.
Anthony was predeceased by his paternal grandfathers, Joel Diaz and Enrique Franqui.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 11, 5-7 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery.
