Albert J. Muratori, 71, of New Britain, husband of Ruth “Ruthie” (Parent) Muratori, passed away unexpected­ly, Friday (September 17, 2021) at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in New Britain, son of the late Dino and Kathleen (Romano) Muratori, he was a lifelong resident of New Britain and a 1968 graduate of New Britain High School. He was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam War era and a member of the Tin Can Sailors group. Al was employed as Chief Engineer of HVAC at the Travelers in Hartford while working for C.B. Richard Ellis for over 40 years, retiring in 2020.

Al was a huge Civil War enthusiast, visiting Gettysburg National Military Park every July to commemorat­e the anniversar­y of the battle. He enjoyed traveling to Cape Cod every summer, to Walt Disney World, and cruising the Caribbean, all with family and friends. He was an exemplary handyman who could fix anything. He loved The Beatles, a cold bottle of Yeungling, and most of all, his family.

Besides his wife Ruthie, he leaves a daughter, Karen Petersen, her husband Tron, and two grandchild­ren, Willow and Jack, of Newington; a brother, Dean Muratori and his wife Anne of New Britain; a sister, Nancy Moran and her husband Richard Ladizki of Berlin; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many friends.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be held Thursday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Covenant Church, 785 Mill Street, Berlin, CT 06037. Calling hours are Wednesday, September 22, 5 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain.
