Maclean, Mary E.
Mary E. Maclean , 77, of South Windsor passed away on September 16 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Mary was born in Hartford, Connecticut on May 3, 1944, the daughter of Wilfrid and Margaret Maclean. She graduated from Norwich Free
Academy in 1962 and received a BA degree from Upsala College in 1966. Mary spent most of her career in the Hartford area working in the insurance industry as an underwriter.
Mary was an active, energetic person for most of her life. She was a kind soul with a generous heart and empathetic nature. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf but more than anything loved spending time in her condo in Vermont skiing with her close friends. Mary took part in many wonderful worldwide adventures. She traveled throughout Europe as well as taking extensive trips to China, Australia and New Zealand.
Mary is survived by her brother David and his wife Nancy, her nephews Matthew (Ingrid) and Christopher (Catherine), and an aunt and three cousins.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at The Residence at South Windsor Farms for their kindness and compassion in administering to all of Mary's needs.
