Winston R. “Win” Senter, 79, of Suffield, belove husband of Patricia A. (Triggs) Senter died peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by his family. Win was born in Hartford, CT, on February 11, 1942, son of the late Ross Hatheway and Helen (Squires) Senter. A lifelong resident of Suffield he graduated from Suffield High School in 1960. Upon graduation he went to work as a machinist for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford. Win opened an ESSO gas station and auto repair shop on East St. South in Suffield with a friend. In 1972 he started Senter Constructi­on, a new home and remodeling business. Win later would open a Real Log Homes dealership, which led to the creation of American Heritage Log Homes. He was an active member of Second Baptist Church for most of his life where he served as a Deacon, Usher, Choir member and on the House Committee. He could always be found around the church taking care of issues that came up inside and outside the building. He became a

member of Trinity Church in Windsor, where he loved to share his passion for cooking in the kitchen for events. He was a past member of the Suffield Volunteer Fire Department for over 25 years. In his younger years he loved to camp with his family. Win loved to sail, fly, and entertain with new recipes that he enjoyed cooking for family and friends. A king, generous, humble man with a great sense of humor Win Senter will be dearly missed. Along with his wife, Patricia he leaves his children, David H. Senter of Enfield, Valerie J. Mercey of Windsor Locks, Steven R. Senter and his wife Wendy of Windsor, and Sara J. Meninna and her husband Bill of Hendersonv­ille, TN; his step-children, Mardi Roebuck Knight and her husband Tom of Steilitz, OR, and Matt Dodge and his wife Maria of East Hartford; his sister, Beverly Brant and her husband James of Hamden, MA; 17 grandchild­ren, and 14 great grandchild­ren. He also leaves his former wife and mother of his children, Susan Senter of Hendersonv­ille, TN. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5-8 p.m., at the Nicholson & Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St., North (Rt. 159) Suffield. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021, 10 a.m., meeting directly at Trinity Church, Park Ave., Windsor. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Suffield.
