Fliss, Andy M.

-

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic loss of our son, husband, father,

brother, uncle and friend, Andy Fliss, on September 16, 2021. Andy was born on December 7, 1969, to Peter and Louise Fliss in New Britain, CT where he spent his entire life. He was a true “hard hitting New

Britainite”. He graduated from New Britain High School in 1987. Andy worked in the carpet industry his whole life starting in sales at Goldsmith's before moving on to Epstein Brothers and eventually starting his own business, Andy Fliss Flooring, to do installation.

Andy loved sports, especially baseball and football. He played in the Fagan Little League as a child and coached there as an adult. He also played on the New Britain Raiders youth football team and New Britain High football team. He loved playing cards, especially poker with the same gang (plus or minus a guy here or there) for more than 30 years. But his ultimate passion was fishing whether it was on a quiet lake or the open ocean.

Andy leaves behind, to mourn his loss, his wife Cheryl and his three children, who were his pride and joy, Alexia Fliss, Justin Fliss and Aiden Fliss, all of New Britain. He also leaves behind his loving parents Peter and Louise Fliss and his mother-in-law Carol Heller as well as his siblings and in-laws Peter and Michelle Fliss, Thomas and Mary Fliss, Christine and Rick Olson, Mike and Jeanne Heller, Sue and Kevin Brigandi, Sandy and Lee Roski, and Kim Heller and Robbie Metevier. He will also be missed and remembered by his godparents Alan and Janet Parker and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Andy was predeceased by his father-in-law, Jim Heller and his grandparents, John

and Constance Bocwinski and John and Anna Fliss. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, September 24th at 10:00 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish at St. Maurice Church, 100 Wightman Road, New Britain, CT.

Please go directly to the church. Visitation hours will be Thursday, September 23rd from 4-7 PM at Ericksonhansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, CT. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to “Fliss Children Memorial Fund” and sent to TD Bank, 1127 Farmington Avenue, Berlin, CT 06037. Please share a memory of Andy with the family in the online guest
