Luetjen, Wilburt William

Wilburt William Luetjen, 93, of East Hampton and formerly of Vernon, husband of the late Gertrude (Anderson) Luetjen, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 6, 2022. Born in Rockville, the son of the late William and Minnie (Lemme) Luetjen, he grew up and lived in Vernon for most of his life before moving to East Hampton recently. Wilburt proudly served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean

War. He was the second-generation owner and operator of the family oil business in Vernon for many years before his retirement. He was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vernon. He is survived by several extended family members. His family will receive friends for calling hour on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at the Ladd-turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon.
