Genevieve Allen Hall, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on

Sunday, October 9, surrounded by her loving family. Gen was the fifth of nine children born to Genevieve (O'reilly) Allen and James Allen, and was raised in Hartford, Connecticut. She attended St. Augustine School, South Catholic High School and graduated as an LPN from Saint Francis Hospital. Genevieve was a compassionate caregiver in her decades-long career as a nurse. While away from her patients, she enjoyed spending time at Black Point Beach in Niantic, Old Orchard Beach in Maine, and Race Point Beach in Cape Cod. Gen's humor and bright energy made her a joy to be around. Her life was full of wonderful friends, who spent time with her right through her final days. Genevieve loved her role as Auntie Gen to her 20 nieces and nephews, and 27 great-nieces and nephews. Her greatest love was being

a grandma to Liam, James, Abigail, Sarah and Maggie. Genevieve is survived by her best friend and husband of 24 years, Mark Hall, of Hartford, as well as her children Emily and Dermot Woods of Newington, Kevin Mccabe of East Hampton, Matthew and Colleen Mccabe of West Hartford and Erica and Greg Hinman of South Portland, Maine. She will also be missed dearly by her siblings and their spouses, Mary and Tom Mitchell of Niantic, Peg and Lou Uliano of Newington, James and Deb Allen of Niantic, Helen and Byron Clark of Portland,

Tim Quinn of Hartford, Theresa Allen and Al Karas of Hartford, Jackie and Chris Allen-doucot of New London and Veronica and John Phelps of Niantic. We know her sister Jane has saved her the perfect spot on the porch in the sky where they are together again. Gen's family would like to thank the staff of Accent Hospice Care and the staff at Avery Heights, especially Lorna, Michelle and Cindy, who brought Gen and her family great comfort at the end of her life. A celebration of Genevieve's life will take place Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center, 200 Main Street in Old Wethersfield. Please
