It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert John D'agostino, 62, of Rocky Hill on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford following a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born in Meriden on March 11, 1960, he was a beloved son of Ida D'agostino and the late Frank D'agostino. After graduating from Maloney HS in 1978, Robert went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in business at Uconn in 1982 and became a CPA shortly thereafter. While working at D'agostino & Mazzone, a firm that he and his business partner built together, Robert established many wonderful friendships with his clients. They will remember him for his professionalism and dedication. Treasured by his family, Robert's loved ones will always cherish their memories of him. Whether he knew someone for years or only briefly, Robert touched the lives of those he met. With a persistent sense of humor, he had a way of making people laugh even in the toughest of times. He never gave up on his faith, growing closer to the Lord through his illness and doing his best to look optimistically towards the future. Throughout his life, he enjoyed watching and playing golf, admiring beautiful ocean scenery, and perfecting the landscaping in his yard. He took joy in working on various projects around his house and spending time with his family. In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his brother, Vincent D'agostino, DMD and his wife Mary, his twin sisters, Anna Decarlo and her husband Mike, and Antoinette D'agostino; his nieces Christina D'agostino and her husband Jerlon Chiu, Victoria D'agostino, and Andreana Decarlo; and his nephew Robert Decarlo; as well as many loved extended family members, including his aunt, Giuseppina Oppedisano. The family would like to thank the Franciscan Home and Hospice for the compassionate care given to Robert. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Thursday, February 16 from 4 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 17 at 10am at Holy Angels Church, 585 Main St., South Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Entombment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Franciscan Home Care & Hospice Care, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451. www.wallingfordfh.com
