Downey, Margaret M.

Margaret Mary (White) Downey, 86 of Rocky Hill, entered into eternal rest and glory at her home on Saturday, February 25, 2023 with her husband of 63+ years Joe by her side.

Margaret was born in Hartford on October 2nd 1936 and was the daughter of Thomas and Marion (Phenix) White. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy in West Harford. She served her God in the Third Order of Carmel and she served her country in the U.S. Navy Reserves and was employed at Pratt and Whitney before starting her family.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents; her sister Michele (Sis); her brother Jude (Butch); her grandsons Cole Gordon, Thomas Anthony, Joshua Emmit, Michael Terrence and great grandson Maxton Jude; her nephew Frank; her nieces Kym and Diane (Dee Dee).

She is survived by her husband Joe; her children Annie (Alan), Joey, Jae, Cathy, Jacky (Todd), and Michael; her grandchildren Kiel, Joel (Shannon), Darcy, Megan, Evan, Henry (Sarah), Jake, Jillian, Brendan, Paige and Fallon; her great grandchildren Nathaniel, Mason, Kailee, Cael, Cora, Jolene, August, Atticus and Alex; her sisters Claudia, Christine and Norma; her brother Thomas; her god children, nieces and nephews. Margaret was a member of the Third Order of Carmel. Funeral Services will be Friday March 3rd at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Church 601 Silas Deane Highway Wethersfield. Burial will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Calling hours will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm Thursday March 2nd 2023 at Rose Hill Funeral Home 580 Elm Street Rocky Hill.
