Mantziaris, Aristoula
Aristoula Mantziaris, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28th. Born on October 28, 1937, in Trikorfo Grevenon, Greece, she was the daughter of Vasiliki and Dionisios Tzikas. She married her husband Iraklis in 1957, and in 1968 they immigrated to the United States and settled in Hartford, CT, where they raised their family. Aristoula had a deep and abiding faith in God, and will be remembered for her great faith and her love of family. She was a devout Christian and long time parishioner of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hartford, where she faithfully attended church every Sunday. Her love of her church was evident as Aristoula was a tireless volunteer every year at the Cathedral's Greek Festival. Her home was open to all and she welcomed everyone with a smile and her delicious cooking, especially her spanakopites. A devoted mother and grandmother, Arsitoula was warm and generous, and was honored as Mother of the Year by the Ladies Philoptochos Society of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Aristoula will be missed by all those she leaves behind.
Aristoula is survived by her daughter Panagiota Anagnostopoulos and her husband Niko of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and her son Chris and his wife Marilyn, of Wethersfield CT. She was the best Yiayia to her grandchildren: Apostolos and his wife Pam, Iraklis, Stavroula, Iraklis and Yianni. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Aristoula was predeceased by her husband Iraklis and siblings Spiros Tzikas and Georgia Giannakopoulos.
