Reducha, John David
John David Reducha, 80, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023 with his family by his side. He was the beloved widower of Marion (Cantito) Reducha for 32 years. John was born in New Britain, Connecticut on November 30, 1942. He was the son of the late John C. and Anna (Staskiewicz) Reducha. John attended local schools and earned his GED while enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard where he was a member of the Military Police. He proudly served his Country for four (4) years and was honorably discharged. John went on to have a successful career as a tractor trailer driver for Mclean Trucking for 25 years, then for Balf/tilcon for an additional 18 years. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union for almost 50 years. John was a devout Roman Catholic and a lifelong member of Holy Cross Church in New Britain. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling with his companion and spending time with his grandchildren. John was an avid fisherman, he loved deep sea fishing and spent many summers fishing and clamming with family and friends in Charleston Rhode Island. He treasured the time he spent with his friends and family at the Stafford Fish and Game Club's Annual Game Dinner as well as the Renegade Pigs MC Annual Big Daddy's Bash.
John was predeceased by his beloved wife of 26 years Marion (Cantito) Reducha, and his companion Carole Sorensen. John is survived by his son Jon David Anthony Reducha, Esq. of New Britain, his daughters, Lisa Reducha and her husband Thomas Myers of Bristol, Laureen (Reducha) Lanier and her husband Larry of Rincon Georgia, Desiree (Reducha) Goncalves and her husband Michael of Winsted, his loving grandchildren Alasia Griebel of Tolland, Jesse Griebel of Farmingdale Michigan, Krysta Parys and Jeffrey Parys of Savannah Georgia, Abigail Goncalves, Samuel Goncalves and Marion Goncalves of Winsted, and his great granddaughter Scarlet, his loving sisters Marian Tarnowski and her husband Frank of Colchester, and Claudia Marcinkowski of Colchester. John is also survived by Philip Cantito, Anthony Cantito, Bettyann and Mark Goulet, Sallyjo and Louie Milo, Sylvia and Renaldo Riccatelli, Jack and Noreen Hills, Shawn (Ditch) Riley, Roger (Budmann) Pratt, Dawn and Scott Nuemann, many nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his best friend Dominic Giannini. John was a member of TK, The Northwestern Veterans TGM Memorial Post, and the Good Ole Boys. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Relatives, neighbors, and friends are invited to call and visit with John's family on Thursday (March 9, 2023) from 4 to 7 PM at the Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday (March 10, 2023) 10 AM at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Avenue New Britain (PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH). Burial with military honors will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, New Britain.
