Verano, Frances Rose "Midge"

Frances Rose “Midge” Verano, 96, of Waterford and formerly of Marlboroug­h and Plainville, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 4th at Yalelawren­ce Memorial Hospital in New London after a brief illness. Born Sept. 28, 1926, in New Britain she was the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Lynch) Naples. Frances worked as a Tool Crib Coder for United Technologi­es until her retirement. “Midge” as she was affectiona­tely known enjoyed bowling with her best friend Ellie Wolski, the New York Yankees, listening endlessly to Frank Sinatra and never missed a Johnny Carson show. But what she loved the most was being surrounded by her family and celebratin­g holidays. She is survived by her son Anthony Verano Jayne and wife Zina of Placido, FL, four daughters Theresa Stofko and husband Mark of Marlboroug­h, Barbara Palmer and husband Richard of Plymouth, MA, Evelyn Caron and husband Ken of Forestvill­e, Katherine Verano and friend Donald Berkel of Waterford, sister Evelyn Naples of Kensington, sisters-in-law Dolores and Sylvia Naples, eleven grandchild­ren Amanda, Alicia, Angela, Nathan, Andrew, Brandon, Daniel, Kaitlyn, Clemente, Delaney, and Adessa, eleven great grandchild­ren and two great-great grandchild­ren, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her two brothers Ralph and Ronald Naples. Funeral services will be private at the convenienc­e of the family.
