Clymer, Fremet Tondow

Fremet Tondow Clymer (85) of West Hartford (formerly of Delray Beach, FL) died peacefully, at home with family by her side, on Sunday March 12, 2023. She was the beloved wife, for 46 years, of the late Gerald Clymer. Born August 12, 1937 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Florence (Jainchill) Tondow. She graduated Montgomery Belair in 1955. She spent many years living in different countries as a child, due to her father's career with the U.S. Government. She was a preschool teacher for 13 years, then worked at Cigna as a supervisor for another 12 years before retiring to Delray Beach, FL. Her favorite activities were going to the beach, reading and playing tennis. She leaves behind her sister Michelle Lakin (James) of Galesburg, IL, two daughters: Jill C. Jacques and Shelly Clymer of Windsor, CT, her three granddaughters: Emilee Jacques (James) of South Windsor, CT; Amanda Sellick (Adam) of South Portland, ME; and Jessica Jacques (Ryan) of New Britain, CT, her only great grandchild, Savannah Lynch, who was the light of her life and kept her going and also leaves her many nieces, nephews, good friends and family members. She was predeceased by her sister, Sally Bobrow. A funeral will be graveside on Thursday March 16 at 11:00AM at the Hartford Sick Benefit Cemetery, Garden Street, in Hartford off of Tower Avenue. Immediately following interment, the family will share in a meal of condolence at their home in Windsor and will receive friends again Thursday evening from 6-9PM. Donations in Fremet's memory may be made to Hartford Hospital at Home Hospice, www.donatenow.networkforgood.org, the family is greatly appreciative for their excellent care.
