Ann Marie (Dodge) Guinan, 93, of Farmington, beloved widow of Joseph M. Guinan, Sr., passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Mary Phil Guinan, Joseph and Allison Guinan, Veronica Guinan Dodge, Cecily and Keith Bradley, Cornelius Guinan, Thomas and Margaret Guinan, and Kevin and Karen Guinan; as well as her grandchild­ren Samuel Guinan-nyhart, Joseph, Mary Kate, Genevieve, Jayne, Veronica, Neiley, Thomas, Patrick, Annie, Jack, and Brendan Guinan.

She was predecease­d by her sister Mary Cecil and her parents Cecil and Veronica Dodge.

Ann Marie was raised in Lowell, MA, graduated early and headed off to Albertus Magnus College at 16. She double majored in Chemistry and Biology before beginning her career as a chemist.

Subsequent­ly she pursued a career in public relations, during which time she met the man who would become her husband for the next 54 years.

While raising her seven children, Ann Marie was active in civic and Roman Catholic organizati­ons. She served as chair of the Farmington Board of Education and as Executive Director of Connecticu­t Citizens Right to Life. She earned a master's degree in accountanc­y and aided her husband's CPA firm.

She loved her large extended family and cherished the times they celebrated together. She imbued a strong faith and devotion to family in all her children, part of the legacy she leaves us. Her indomitabl­e sense of humor and quick wit brought laughter and joy to the end.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Friday, March 24th, 2023 from 4:00-8:00pm. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Saturday, March 25th, 2023 at 10:15am followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Patrick, 110 Main St., Farmington at 11:00am. Burial will be in the family plot at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Alumni Associatio­n at Albertus Magnus College, Office of Developmen­t, 700 Prospect Street, New Haven, CT 06511.
