Anthony "Charlie" Pozzetti passed away on May 8th, 2023. He was born May 20th, 1940 in Portland, CT. He was the son of the late Lodovico and Annunziata Barillari Pozzetti. Charlie attended St. Mary's school as a child and then graduated Portland High School in 1958. He enjoyed being on the baseball team. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He then worked for Chevron Oil company. He was a member of Teamsters local 559 until his retirement. He is survived by his step daughter, Renata Tewksbury of Portland, CT, who also was his caregiver in his later years. He is also survived by his stepsons Ted Bishop and wife Edelyn of Knoxville, TN and Vincent Dean Bishop and wife Jennifer of Monarch Beach, CA. He also had 8 step grandchild­ren: Teddy Jr., Jammie, Alexis, Noah, Austin, and Autumn, Trevor and Derek Tewksbury of whom he was able to see often and really enjoyed visits from these past few years. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Charlie loved baseball. He enjoyed going to Yankee games and his real passion was all kinds of stock car racing, from Waterford Speedway to NASCAR. He was predecease­d by brothers William Pozzetti and James Pozzetti, and a sister Mary Todd. Charlie spent the last three years at Chestelm Health and Rehabilita­tion Center in Moodus. He was very appreciati­ve of the great care that he received. A very special thanks to the incredible staff who treated him as family. Graveside services will be held on May 20th at St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboroug­h St., Portland at 10 am.
