Stephen J. Wisneski, 88, of East Windsor, formerly of South Windsor, beloved husband of Elizabeth (Allen) Wisneski died peacefully on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at The Village at Buckland Court, surrounded by his family. Stephen was born in Broad Brook on January 12, 1935, son of the late Stephen J. Wisneski Sr., and Anna E. (Butenas) Wisneski. Stephen was a graduate of Ellsworth High School in South Windsor with the Class of 1952. After graduation he played in a dance band called Rhythm Aires. On January 25, 1954, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth, on May 3, 1958, and they raised their family in South Windsor. Stephen owned and operated Wisneski Plumbing & Heating with his brother until he retired. He enjoyed his work and loved his customers, specializi­ng in residentia­l plumbing and later added the commercial side to the business. He was an avid outdoorsma­n who enjoyed large game hunting. Stephen was a member of the Marine Corps League, Hardware City Detachment and helped to honor fallen servicemem­bers on the honors team for many years. He was also a member of the South Windsor Rotary Club, Tobacco Valley Stock Club, and the Treasure Coast Wood Carvers in Florida. He also enjoyed time at his log cabin in South Ryegate Vermont and winters in Stuart, Florida. Along with his wife of over 65 years, Elizabeth, he leaves his children, Stephen Scott Wisneski and his wife Diana of Uniontown, OH, Diane Daleb and her husband James of Ellington, and David A. Wisneski and his fiancé Kelly Switzer of Vernon; his grandchild­ren, Joanna Larson and her husband Eric, Abigail Daleb, Noelle Wisneski, Melody Wisneski, and Joseph Wisneski; his great grandchild­ren, Cameron, Selah, Zoe, Afton, and Maddox. He also leaves his brother, William Wisneski, and his wife Carol of Windsor. He was predecease­d by his granddaugh­ter, Jennifer L. Daleb. His family sends their heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at The Village at Buckland Court for their kind and compassion­ate care. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, (TODAY) from 4-7 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 1, 2023, 10 a.m., meeting directly at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Rd., South Windsor. Burial will follow at St. Catherine Cemetery in Broad Brook.
