Lingua, John A.

John A. Lingua, 75, beloved husband of Josephine (Marinone) Lingua, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital. He was born March 18, 1948, in Hartford to Dr. Peter F. and Anna (Galler) Lingua. John was a lifelong resident of Windsor Locks; He was very spiritual and his family was his life. Years ago John was involved in community organizations such as town politics. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church. He enjoyed his sports, especially both UCONN Basketball teams and the Boston Red Sox, he was also a car enthusiast. In his early years of employment, he was a DJ and was better known as Big John Little. He retired as Northeast Regional Manager for the Merck Company. Besides his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his son Alfred Lingua (wife Sheree), his granddaughter Victoria Lingua, his brother Peter Lingua, his brother-in-laws John Marinone (wife Gail), Angelo Marinone (wife Sheryl) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Dr. Peter Lingua and Anna Lingua, his brother, David Lingua and his sister, Theresa Kelly. Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 4 – 7 pm at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St, Windsor Locks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Church, Windsor Locks. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Windsor Locks.
