Dion, Lillian C.

Lillian C. Dion, 99, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late Edward L. Dion, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023 with members of her family by her side. Lillian was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late John and Vittoria (Zambon) Dadalt. She attended Stafford Schools and was a member of St. Edward Parish. She worked briefly at a local textile company, but for most of her early adult life, she helped her mother and siblings operate the family farm. She married Edward Dion on May 4, 1946 and soon thereafter began to raise their family. Lillian was happiest when she was at her home taking care of her family. She was in her glory whether she was cooking, cleaning, ironing, baking, painting or whatever other task needing to be done around the house. To her, she was doing something for the ones she loved and that's what was most important to her. Also, she got great satisfaction working in the yard and tending to her plants and flowers. After her family was all grown, Lillian was a long time volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program and for many years knitted mittens, hats, and scarfs for the Toys for Tots program. Lillian is survived by her four sons, Edward and his wife Darlene of Sarasota, FL, Frederick and his wife Sharon of Stafford Springs, CT, David and his wife Barbara of Willington, CT, and Alan and his wife Andrea of Deltona, FL; eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren; her sister, Regina Corsini; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Louis Dadalt; and five sisters, Rosa Dadalt, Gloria Pokorny, Josephine Gall, Palmira Guarco, and Viola Niemitz. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 A.M., with a funeral service to take place at 11:00 A.M., at Introvigne Funeral Home Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
