With sadness we announce the passing of Barbara O'sullivan Larese, widow of Fred J. Larese. Family and friends and the team at the Jefferson House celebrated her 100th birthday this past May.

Born in New Britain, daughter of the late Lucy (Sanders) O'sullivan and John O'sullivan. She was the last of the 12 O'sullivan siblings of Brook St.

Barbara attended local schools and started her career following many siblings at New Britain Machine as a secretary and retired working for the State of Connecticu­t. Over her life span she was a parishione­r of St. Joseph Church, where she attended school, St. Mary Church, St. John's Church and St. Paul's Church. Barbara leaves her two daughters: Maureen Ziezulewic­z (William) of Golden Valley, MN, Bernadine Luddy (John) of Berlin and her son Frederick Larese (Virginia) of New Britain.

Barbara had seven grandchild­ren: Johanna Schmitt (Brian), Geoffrey Ziezulewic­z, Paul Ziezulewic­z (Lindsay), Bridget Mclaughlin (Mark), Timothy Luddy (Chelsea), Heather Larese (Katy) and Brittany Larese. In addition, she had three great-grandchild­ren: Will Sulkow, Hugh and Becker Ziezulewic­z.

She was predecease­d by her husband Fred, daughter Mary Jane Schmitt, and her close friend Robert Westman.

The family of Barbara would like to thank the staff of the Jefferson House specifical­ly the Hitchcock nursing floor for giving such loving care in her last few years of life.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church/divine Providence in New Britain, CT on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 11:00AM. Calling hours prior to at 9AM-10:30AM at Luddy-peterson Funeral Home. Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
