,96 - of Ventnor on December 5th. She was born in Brooklyn on January 16, 1927. A woman of valor, who volunteere­d her whole life, including HIAS where she was sorting cards with names of survivors of the Holocaust. She found our cousins in Israel who have become lifelong family of importance. Hadassah was a common word in our house, as was her civil rights work including the MLK 28 August 1963, March on Washington. A former member of Temple Emanuel of Lynbrook, Long Island, where she was an Officer of Sisterhood and volunteere­d for many years. Faye attended Brooklyn College. Later she went back to school and became a well know interior designer on Long Island and worked with Wayside Bedding. When she moved to South Jersey with her late husband Phil Stanger in 2001 Faye was active in Hadassah and involved in Stockton University educationa­l programs along with other community activities. She instilled in her family a passion for love of family, love of life, our responsibi­lity for others, community activism, positive thinking, our Jewish faith, and Israel. Faye is survived by her children, Bruce (Linda) Stanger and Doug (Gail) Stanger, grandchild­ren, Jennifer Poza (Carlos), Anna Stanger Golden, Alana (Dr. Aaron) Weinberg, Ari (Aliyah) Stanger, great-grand-children, Etiel, Adina, Akiva, Yoni, Zev, Coby, Carlos, Selena and Sofia, sister, Elaine Schwartz and many beloved nieces, friends all whose lives she impacted. She was predecease­d by her parents Annabella and Sam Laster and her husband of 64 years Phil Stanger. Synagogue services will be held, Wednesday December 6, 10:30 am at Shirat Hayam, 700 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ventnor, NJ. A livestream will be offered at www.jsgfuneral­s.com for those unable to attend. Interment to follow at the Beth Kehillah Cem., Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. The family asks that contributi­ons in her memory be made to the Anti-defamation League, www.adl.org. Services in the care of J.S. Goldstein Funeral Home & Monuments, Mays Landing, New Jersey.
