Aube, Arthur G.

-

Arthur G Aube, (Pepe), 81 of Ellington Connecticut, beloved husband of Nancy (Connolly) Aube, passed away, Thursday December 28th after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. His loving family was by his side. He was born in Hartford on September 7th, 1942, to the late Oliver F Aube Sr, and Alice Lefebvre. He grew up in the Hartford area and was a graduate of Weaver High School, class of 1960. Arthur joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Randolph and was honorably discharged in 1962.

Pepe was a creative person which is why he chose a career as an Illustrator at Thompson Associates. He also worked for many years in advertising promotional sales before working as an agent for Sentry Real Estate. Pepe’s passions for life truly came through with his love of wildlife, gardening, and the outdoors. He always had a large garden where he grew every type of vegetable. He took meticulous care of his lawn and gardens. If there was a rock or dandelion in the yard, he made sure his children removed all offending objects. Pepe loved to birdwatch and had a multitude of feeders around his yard.

Pepe had a passion for community and was a member of both Church of St Luke in Ellington and St Bernard Church of Rockville. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. Pepe was also a member of the Zoning Appeals Board in Ellington and past President of the Rockville Exchange Club. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchild, with a second one on the way. His favorite times were family gatherings where the entire family could be together.

Arthur was predeceased by brothers Earl Aube and Oliver F Aube Jr, and his sister, Joan M Spivey. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy (Connolly) Aube, his 3 children, Andrew (Pam) Aube of Farmington, Christine (Scott) Sanford, and Heather (David) Stavens, both of Ellington. Pepe is also survived by his grandchildren Benjamin Aube, Abigail and Lucas Potash, Erin Stavens, Patrick (Macy) Stavens, Madison, Eimile and Liam Stavens, and one great grandchild, Livia Stavens.

We would like to thank the cardiac team at Saint Francis Hospital including the 5th floor Cardiac ICU doctors and nurses. We would also like to thank Dr. Aseem Vashist whom Art had implicit trust in and helped him though his lengthy battle with congestive heart failure.
