Roberta (Kalber) Davis, 86, passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Thursday, December 28, 2023. She was born on July 1, 1937 to Albert and Catherine Kalber. After spending her early childhood in Hartford, she moved to Coventry where she grew up working on her family's farm. Roberta loved and taught dancing, it was truly a passion of hers. Every time she danced, she would clear the floor. She was a very adventurou­s woman who traveled the U.S. with her parents and her brother. At the age of 19, she moved to NYC to become a computer programmer. Soon after, she relocated to Connecticu­t and worked for Pratt & Whitney where, on a companyspo­nsored trip to Spain and Portugal, she met the love of her life, John Davis. She was a devout Catholic who prayed her rosary and attended mass daily. Roberta was a spunky, sassy, spit-fire with a great sense of humor, who always stayed true to herself. She loved to spend quality time with her family playing cards, table games, or watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Roberta had a true talent for knitting, crocheting, needle point, and chicken scratch. She loved to spend her time making blankets, reading, cooking, and checking in with her family to hear about their days. Roberta was an extremely strong and selfless woman who deeply cared about her family. Roberta is survived by her children David and Eleanor of Myrtle Beach, SC, Donna and Nicola Piro of Manchester, CT, James and Barbara Davis of East Hampton, CT, Brian Davis and Lucy Maziar of Ashford, CT, and Kathleen and Joe Naples of Bristol, CT, her grandchild­ren Justin, Andrew, Kyle, Tyler, Staci, Joshua, Kathleen, Chance, Bridget, Joey, Sammy, James, Lauren, and Ben, and her great grandchild­ren Masyn, Avery, Sloan, Colton, Max, Nora, Olivia, and Waylon. She is predecease­d by her husband, John Davis, along with her siblings Jean (Kalber) Ouellette, Nancy (Kalber) Hannon, and James Kalber. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 6PM until 8PM at O'brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 starting at 10AM at the funeral home, until a procession will leave for an 11AM service at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Bristol.
