Charette, Jenifer B.

-

Jenifer B. Charette, 61, of Somers, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 23, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Keith M. Charette, and a loving mother, daughter, and nana. Born in Springfield, MA on December 2, 1962, Jenifer was the daughter of Janet (Semanie) Bowers and the late Richard Bowers. She was a lifelong resident of Somers.

Jenifer was a woman of many passions and talents, with an infectious smile and spirit. As an accomplished artist, she expressed herself through her creative works that touched the hearts of those around her. She found joy in cultivating beautiful gardens, capturing life's moments through photography, and exploring the world through her love of travel.

Jenifer had a deep love for music and sports, with a special soft spot for track & field. She was a passionate, lifelong Celtics & Red Sox fan, through the good and the bad seasons. Her love for track & field was on full display coaching the town's youth track and field program as well as competing in the senior circuit.

Jen also loved to attend her children's sporting events, sitting on the sidelines in the freezing cold to watch a soccer match or catching a weekend football game. The winter found her in the school gym attending and coaching countless basketball games. Spring brought baseball, track and bags of peanuts. No matter the sport or distance, Jen was there to cheer on her children all the way through college.

She shared her love of music with family and friends, whether singing and playing guitar or attending countless concerts and music festivals with good friends. Never forgetting to share her experiences seeing the Eagles at the Yale Bowl or The Rolling Stones in Philly.

Jen will be deeply missed by her devoted husband, Keith, and their two children, Aaron Charette and wife Mia of Monson, MA, and Kelsey Charette of Somers. Jenifer also leaves behind her two grandchildren, William and Ava and her mother, Janet Bowers, of Cape Cod. Jenifer was predeceased by her father, Richard Bowers, and her brother, Paul Bowers.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Friday, January 5, from 4-7 pm at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Jimmy V Foundation in memory of Jenifer.
