Spring Jr., William Joseph
William Joseph Spring, Jr., died on December 30th, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Irene (Herzy) Spring for 56 years and Guidance Counselor and Guidance Instructional Leader at Plainville High School for 35 years.
He was born in New Britain, Connecticut on July 28, 1944, the son of the late William & Helen Spring. Bill enjoyed life with memories that included squeezing fresh lemonade and being the Vegetable Auctioneer at the Southington Grange's Annual Fair. His community volunteering continued through ticket sales at the Terryville Fair and cleanup projects at the Army Corps of Engineer's West Thompson Dam. After his wife, children and grandchildren, he had a special love for creating decorative pins and Christmas ornaments in his effort to show appreciation for those he loved and met. He and his family enjoyed seeing the beauty of our country & Canada through travels in their travel trailer and later Motorhome as members of the Happy Wanderers, Family Campers and Rvers Association and Family Motorcoach Association. In addition to his very special wife, he is survived by his three beloved daughters, Laura-jean Minton (husband Steven), Lisa Ann Unwin (husband Brian), Julie Lynn Spring (special friend, Deborah Colucci), four grandchildren Eric Minton (wife Annie), Daniel Minton (fiancé Kassie), Olivia Unwin (boyfriend Vinny) and Brayden Unwin and nephew, Christian Kasey (wife - Enny Lee).
He was predeceased by his twin sister, Carol Ann Potter. He will be missed by so many, in lieu of flowers please make donations St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital. The family sends a heart felt thank you to the nurses on C5 and the Hospice care team at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britian for their superb care and support of Bill and family during this time. Friends and family are invited to calling hours on Thursday, Jan. 4th, at 10:00 – 11:00 AM, with a Prayer Service at 11:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
