Michelle Goldberg-cyr, 50, of Newington, died at home, Saturday December 30, 2023, with her beloved husband, of 19 years, William “Bill” Cyr, by her side. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of Barry Goldberg and the late Andrea “Andie” (Rimer) Goldberg. She was a graduate of Rocky Hill High School. She worked in banking specializi­ng in mortgages and then as a personal banker. Michelle was very proud of her Jewish roots. She taught Hebrew school and took pride in all her students. She and Bill loved going to music concerts and attending fairs. Michelle had a great love for all things Disney especially Stitch. Michelle and Bill had first met each other while she was working in a music store. Michelle always wanted to help and please people; she was a very caring and giving person. She would buy gifts for everybody and had a big heart and thrived on the joy it gave her seeing the smiles she put on people's faces. She loved her cats, Sunshine and Socks, calling them her “fur babies”. Besides her husband, Bill, she is survived by her father, Barry Goldberg and his wife Lynn of Newington, her brother Robert Goldberg and his wife Krupa Patel, of Great Falls, VA, her niece and nephews Emma, Isaac and Ajay. Brett Gottheimer (Elizabeth) and their children, Lee Gottheimer (Jill) and their family, Uncle Ken and Paula Goldberg and their children and her mother-in-law Edwina Cyr of Berlin, dear friends Julio and Tessa Gianoni and their children. A funeral will be graveside on Wednesday, January 3, at 11:00 AM with Rabbi Debra Cantor officiatin­g at the Temple Beth Torah Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfie­ld (intersecti­on of Jordan Lane and Berlin Tnpk.) top of the Jordan Lane Extension. Michelle will be buried next to her mother, Andie, who died February 17, 2015. Immediatel­y following interment, the family will receive friends at Barry and Lynn's home in Newington. Visiting hours will be Thursday and Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-8:30 PM; and Saturday night from 7-8:30 PM with a service each night at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to, B'nai Tikvohshol­om synagogue, 180 Still Road, Bloomfield, CT. 06002, the American Humane Society or to a charity of donor's choice. Michelle missed her mother greatly and now is reunited with her. Michelle will be remembered as a beautiful person who embodied true love for her family and friends and enjoyed sharing her life with them. Michelle will be forever in our hearts.
