Janet Rizkalla Forzley, 90, formerly of Worcester MA, passed into eternal life on December 26, 2023, which was the anniversar­y of her marriage to Philip Forzley, who predecease­d her. Janet was born to George and Mae Rizkalla of Worcester, MA. She received her bachelor's degree from Clark University in Worcester, MA, her master's degree from the University of Hartford, Hartford CT, and obtained her 6th -Year Profession­al Certificat­ion in Reading from Central CT State University. She taught in Manchester for 30 years. Her family worshipped at St. George Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester, MA as well as St Mary's Episcopal Church in Manchester, CT. Janet's husband of 56 years was deceased in 2011. She is survived by her sons Phil Forzley of New London, NH and Ken Forzley of Fort Collins, CO. and their wives, Anne and Deb, her grandchild­ren Sarah Forzley and her husband Adam Driscoll of Madison, WI, Erica Forzley of South Lake Tahoe, CA, Drew Forzley of Omaha, NE, Elise Forzley of Austin, TX and by loving nephews and nieces. Janet would light up whenever she communicat­ed with them.

She was predecease­d by two brothers, Roland Rizkalla and George Rizkalla. Janet cherished raising two sons, growing flowers, doting on her trees and gardens and teaching children in the Manchester schools including 3rd grade and middle school. Her family relished visiting family and friends in Worcester, MA, Cape Cod, MA and other parts of New England. A focal point of Janet's life included St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, attending when she could.

Janet was a resident of The Arbors at Hop Brook in Manchester. She loved to spend time outside and she went for multiple walks a day. She sometimes terrified The Arbors staff by going for walks on busy streets and through intersecti­ons. She always compliment­ed The Arbors staff and the food served. During every phone call and visit she would say “they take great care of us here”. Janet's family greatly appreciate­s how The Arbors treated her since the day she moved in. Calling Hours will take place on Thursday, January 11th, 2024 from 9am till 1030am, with a memorial service to follow until 11am at Holmes Watkins Funeral Home, located at 400 Main Street, Manchester CT 06040. Lunch will follow at the Manchester Country Club, 305 South Main Street, Manchester CT. Burial will take place on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10am directly at Hope Cemetery, located at 119 Webster Street, Worcester MA.
