Quinnipiac men thump Manhattan to improve to 11-4

Quinnipiac 76, Manhattan 59: Paul Otieno had 23 points in Quinnipiac’s 76-59 victory against Manhattan on Sunday.

Otieno added nine rebounds and four steals for the Bobcats (11-4, 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).

Savion Lewis added 15 points while going 6 of 12 from the floor, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and 2 for 3 from the line, and he also had five rebounds and seven assists. Amarri Tice shot 4 for 10 (1 for 4 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line to finish with 12 points.

The Jaspers (4-9, 1-3) were led by Seydou Traore, who recorded 11 points, eight rebounds and two blocks. Logan Padgett added 10 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks for Manhattan. In addition, Jaden Winston finished with nine points and five assists. The loss was the Jaspers’ sixth in a row.

Fairfield 82, Marist 61: Caleb Fields scored 33 points to lead Fairfield over Marist 82-61 on Sunday.

Fields had a big night from beyond the arc for the Stags (9-6, 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), as he connected on 10 of his 18 3-point attempts. Brycen Goodine was 5 of 8 shooting (3 for 5 from 3-point range) to add 14 points. Louis Bleechmore went 4 of 6 from the field to finish with eight points.

The Stags extended their winning streak to eight games.

Jadin Collins led the Red Foxes (7-5, 2-1) in scoring, finishing with 15 points and seven assists.

Javon Cooley added 10 points and two steals for Marist. Jackson Price also put up nine points and six rebounds.

WOMEN’S COLLEGE HOOPS -LATE SATURDAY

Fairfield 64, Canisius 51: Fairfield (12-1, 4-0/MAAC) stayed unbeaten in conference play thanks to freshman forward Meghan Andersen, who scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds as the Stags outclassed Canisius. Senior guard Janelle Brown added 16 points. Bri Rozzi led the way with 13 for the Golden Griffins.

Quinnipiac 71, Manhattan 59: Freshmen Karson Martin and Anna Foley led the way for the Bobcats, scoring 19 and 13 points respective­ly, as Quinnipiac won its second straight game to improve to 6-6 and 3-0 in the MAAC with a win over Manhattan on Saturday.

Junior Grace Labarge added 13 points and 5 rebounds off the bench.

Manhattan (9-4, 2-2/MAAC) was led by junior forward Petra Juric, who scored 22 points. Jade Blagrove added 19 in the loss.
