Decarlo, Michael A.
Michael A. Decarlo, 73, of Windsor, beloved husband of Theresa (Cabral) Decarlo, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Born in Hartford, son of the late Samuel and Irene (Andoline) Decarlo, he was a lifelong resident of Windsor living in the same home he was raised in. He graduated from Windsor High School in 1968 and earned his BA from Central Connecticut State University. He was employed at the Institute of Living caring for children for 34 years until his retirement in 2016. Michael was an avid reader and a Crossword Puzzle enthusiast. He enjoyed playing and coaching both basketball and baseball. He loved traveling to Maine, spending time at the beach, and visiting various lighthouses. But nothing put a smile on his face more than hanging out with his grandsons. Besides his wife Theresa, he leaves a daughter Crystal Decarlo of Windsor; a son Samuel Decarlo and his wife Virginia of Trumbull; three grandsons: Lucas, Ryan, and Cameron Decarlo; a brother Ronald Decarlo and his wife Noni of Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother James Decarlo. His family will receive friends Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 5-7 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Avenue, Windsor. A Funeral Service will be Friday, January 12, 2024, 10 AM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
