Our dear mom, Gisele Aline Gurovich, born February 1,1927, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024 at the age of 96.

Gisele is survived by her daughter Linda Ingvertsen and late husband Peter Ingvertsen of Unionville, CT; daughter Susan Marston and husband Tom Marston of Temecula, CA; daughter Cynthia Baskin and husband Joe Baskin of Suffield, CT. She was a Gold Star mother who was pre-deceased by her only son Johnny E. Gurovich who was killed in the Vietnam War in 1969 at age 19. She was also predecease­d by her brother Marcel Boisvert and sister Mariette Lamoureux both of Bristol, CT.

Left behind are her grandchild­ren Kristen Ingvertsen Karvonen and husband Tuomo Karvonen of Boynton Beach, Fla; Britt Ingvertsen-snyder and husband Craig Snyder and great grandchild Garrett Snyder; Brent Baskin of East Longmeadow, MA and his fiancé Bella Nettis; Blake Baskin of Suffield, CT; Scott Marston and wife Laura Marston of Eagle, Idaho and great grandchild­ren James and Ryan Marston; Christophe­r Marston of Rancho Mission Viejo, CA and wife Kristin Marston, and great grandchild­ren Jack and Luke Marston.

She was a kind and gentle mom who taught us when faced with life challenges to just try your best and that was enough. “Jerry” as she liked to be called, had many friends in the Unionville community where she resided for many years on West Avon Rd with her late husband of 64 years, John Gurovich who died 14 years ago. Gisele was born in St. Guillaume D' Upton Quebec to Edward and Diane Boisvert. She was an active member of St. Mary's Church for many years.

Her last 5 years were spent as a resident at Avon Health Center, Avon, CT where she was a kind friend to many. The family wishes to formally thank the staff of Avon Heath Center, especially Dr. Jaclyn Yaeger for the excellent care she received.

The family will receive friends and family on Friday January 12 at The Ahern Funeral Home,111 Main St., Unionville, CT, between the hours of 9:30 and 10:30am, followed immediatel­y by an 11:00 am Funeral Mass directly next door to funeral home at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea,145 Main St., Unionville. Graveside services and burial will be held at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass at St. Mary Cemetery, 644 Huckleberr­y Hill Rd, Avon, CT in the family plot.
