Harris, Sean C.

-

Sean Clark Harris, 52, of Avon, passed away peacefully on Friday January 12, 2024 at Livewell in Southington, CT surrounded by family and friends after a long, courageous battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Sean leaves behind his beloved wife Erin (Bacon) Harris, and his 10 year old son, Evan of Simsbury, CT; his parents, Tim and Charmagne (Lees) Harris of Yarmouth Port, MA; his sister, Dara of Yarmouth, MA; nephew, Hunter of Cleveland, OH and niece, Sasha of Washington, D.C.

Sean was born on March 10, 1971, in Boston, MA and grew up in Glastonbury, with his parents, Tim, Charmagne, and sister Dara. Sean spent his summers on Block Island and Cape Cod developing his love of the ocean and boating, learning to sail at Dennis Yacht Club (DYC) and Block Island Yacht Club (BIYC). Sean was natural at creating long-lasting friendships and memories with anyone he met, touching the lives of, and connecting with the people around him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand in any endeavor. He was educated at The Renbrook School, Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford, CT, and the University of Maine in Orono, ME. Sean had an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for life. Growing up he loved being on or in the water, whether it be turning dinghies into water forts, selling his fresh dug clams, or enjoying larger watercraft sports. His sense of humor could leave you speechless with laughter. He was an animal lover from early on, starting with the golden retrievers he grew up with. Sean enjoyed Hartford Whalers games with his family and was an avid skier frequenting Sugarloaf Mountain. As a child he was compassionate, sincere, considerate, gracious, good-natured, and cheerfully amusing, traits that he carried with him through life. Those who knew him benefited from these qualities.

Sean quickly grew roots wide and deep due to his beloved personality. He was the first to help those that needed it and took great pride in always being there for family and friends. Sean was one of the original champions of The Hometown Foundation at Bozzuto's Inc. who helped to shape The Dream Ride Experience from its humble beginnings as a motorcycle ride to the life-changing weekend that it has now become. Sean was the director of cause-related marketing for The Hometown Foundation at Bozzuto's Inc. for many years and his work continues to have an impact on all those that the Foundation touches.

Sean spent the past seven years at Livewell and was able to form special bonds with the staff and fellow residents. We would like to thank the staff for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Sean.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center, located at 301 Country Club Rd. in Avon.
