It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that the family of beloved Robert Schreibman announce his passing following a brief illness. Bob was born in Los Angeles, CA to Harry and Dory (Geller) Schreibman on October 25, 1937. They moved shortly thereafter to Brooklyn, New York where he graduated from Fort Hamilton High School. Bob went on to Colorado State University 19551959 for his B.S. and to Tufts School of Dental Medicine for his D.M.D. 1964-1967. He continued at Boston University School of Dentistry 1967-1969 for his pedodontic certificat­e and Masters of Science in Dentistry. Bob moved to Glastonbur­y in 1969 to begin his pediatric dental practice; later partnering with Dr. Robert Jung to establish Smiles for the Future, where they grew their friendship and practiced together for over 45 years. In addition to his previous degrees, he also attended the University of Hartford 1982-1985 where he received his Master of Science in Organizati­onal Behavior. Among the many leadership and teaching positions Bob held, were founder of the Connecticu­t Foundation for Dental Outreach, Cofounder of the Connecticu­t Mission of Mercy free dental clinic, serving as cochair from 2008-2023, and past president of the Connecticu­t State Dental Associatio­n. Bob was always a loving husband, father, grandpa (papa Bob), brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His interests were many, including being an avid UCONN men/women basketball supporter and fan, New England Patriots/ Miami Dolphins football fan, travel, dining out, and being a member of the Connecticu­t Cactus and Succulent Society. He was a wine enthusiast and proud member of The Purple Tooth Club. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends, including his Adena's Walk community. He especially enjoyed his long walks with his dear friend John Beck. Bob leaves behind his loving wife, Andrea, of 30 wonderful years and their blended family, Matthew Palmer of Carlsbad, CA; Debra (William) Bingham of Woodstock, GA; Lauren (Andrew) Berman of Franklin, MA; Laura (Jay) Levy of West Hartford, CT; and Paul (Cheryl) Siegel of Ellington, CT. He also leaves 10 grandchild­ren, David Schreibman, Gabriel Bingham, Noah, Josie, and Daniel Berman, Reily, Mason, and Jake Siegel, and Rachel and Asher Levy. Bob was predecease­d by his grandson, Mitchel Schreibman. He also leaves his sister Carol Boies of Marietta, GA, niece Meredith Addess (Jim) of Spanish Fort AL, great niece Chanah, and his former wife Myrna Friedman of Delray Beach, Florida. In addition, he leaves behind his adoring tuxedo cats, Shadow and Shiloh. Bob will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the community he touched with his kindness and generosity. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 28, at 12:30pm at Congregati­on Kol Haverim, 1079 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbur­y, CT.; followed by a graveside service at Kol Haverim Cemetery on Jordan Lane Extension, Wethersfie­ld, CT. Shiva will be held at Congregati­on Kol Haverim from 5:O0pm-7:00pm, with the service at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the Connecticu­t Mission of Mercy (cfdo. org) or Congregati­on Kol Haverim.
