Simboski, Mary M.

-

Mary (Montano) Simboski, 81, of Newington, loving wife of 58 years of Frank Simboski, Sr., passed away peacefully with her beloved family by her side on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. Born in Hartford on August 4, 1942, a daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Calabrese) Montano, she had been a resident of Newington for the past 56 years. Mary was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford, class of 1960, and went on to become a Clerk of the Newington, Rocky Hill, and Wethersfield Probate Court, where she proudly served her community before her retirement.

A devout catholic and woman of strong faith, Mary was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Mary's Church in Newington. No day went by that Mary was not completing a Rosary or saying a Novena for a friend or family member in need. She made everyone feel safe with her many prayers. She was an avid reader, lover of word searches, and loved writing poetry. Most of all, Mary was a proud and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her time spent with her entire family, especially at the holidays. Mary was known for making every holiday perfect down to an even count on presents, her perfect stocking stuffers that everyone needed but never knew they needed, her handpicked personalized Christmas ornaments, her annual Easter Egg Hunt with much more than chocolate. No birthday was complete without her annual birthday message on the answering machine, bringing a double batch of brownies (one batch was never enough), and no holiday was complete without her corn casserole or her Thanksgiving stuffing. She loved a good party and no family wedding was complete without Mary dancing the Tarantella with a handkerchief in her hand.

Besides her husband, Mary is survived by a son, Frank Simboski, Jr. and his wife Sandy of Rocky Hill, and a daughter Jennifer Allison and her husband Matt of Rocky Hill. Mary will be missed by her adored grandchildren, lovingly known as her Fab Five – Alison, Julia, and Matthew Simboski, and Benjamin and Nicholas Allison. She also leaves behind her sister Antoinette Flattery, her sister-in-law Joann Montano and her beloved niece and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Andrew Montano and her brother-in-law John Flattery.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington is serving the family. Donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Mary's honor at www.stjude.org. To share condolences with the family please visit us at www. duksa.net.
