Thomas F. Brennan, 88, formerly of Newington and Windsor Locks, CT passed away peacefully on February 12, 2024. He joins his beloved wife of 63 years, Mary Ann (Langan) Brennan, in heaven, alongwith their daughter Kathy Koenig. Born on November 12, 1935 in Dunmore, PA, Tom was the son of the late Martin and Helen (O'boyle) Brennan. He was a 1953 graduate of St. Paul's High School, Scranton, PA. After marrying the love of his life, Mary Ann, Tom proudly served in the United States Army, the Fourth Infantry Division. Upon completion of his military service, Tom and Mary Ann settled in Newington, CT, where they raised their six children. Tom was a career salesman for fifty years, working in the office supply industry, primarily representi­ng Hartford Office Supply Company and supporting customers in the Northeast Region. Tom belonged to Holy Spirit Church, Newington and later to St. Mary's Church in Windsor Locks where he volunteere­d and served on the parish council. Actively involved in his community, Tom was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Irish American Home Society. He also volunteere­d at the Loaves and Fishes and Meals on Wheels. Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing tennis with his wife as members of the Newington Tennis Club, beach vacations in Rhode Island, watching college basketball, singing, dancing and parties. He loved attending events for his children and grandchild­ren. Above all, Tom's greatest joy was his family. Surviving are Tom's 5 remaining children, Maribeth Connolly (John)of Enfield; Maureen Mullins (Rick) of Berlin; Suzane Balesano (Tony) of Glastonbur­y; Thomas Brennan Jr. (Patricia) of Broad Brook; Michele Tolo (Jay) of Suffield; and son-in-law John Koenig (Melanie) of Suffield. In addition, Tom is survived by his adored grandchild­ren: Jessica, James (Jillian), Kathleen, Kevin, Ricky, Kristen, Sarah and Christophe­r, and a greatgrand­child Owen. He also leaves behind his cherished sister, Nancy Rocereto (Thomas); his brothers-in-law, Michael Langan (Maryann), Gerald Langan (Francis); sisters-in-law Evelyn Langan and Anne Marie Brennan; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends Kathy and Joe Cieslukows­ki. In addition to his aforementi­oned wife, daughter, and parents, Tom was also preceded in death by his brothers, Martin and Robert Brennan, his brothers-in-law, Eugene and Paul Langan, and his sisters-in-law, Cathy Brennan and Pat Langan. Tom will be remembered for his love of God, country, and family. He was full of optimism, gratitude, and compassion. He was admired for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. We are blessed and honored to have had such a loving, supportive and kind husband, father, grandfathe­r and friend. Calling hours are on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Leete-stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. at St. Jeanne Jugan Parish – Holy Family Church, 23 Simon Road, Enfield, CT. Burial will follow at Hazardvill­e Cemetery.
