Uconn remains No. 15 in Top 25 poll with three Big East matchups left

- By Emily Adams

Uconn women's basketball remained at No. 15 in the AP Top 25 poll after routing Xavier and Georgetown each by 40-plus points last week.

The Huskies (22-5, 14-0 Big East) play their last ranked game of the regular season Monday against Creighton, which dropped a spot to No. 21 from last week. No other Big East team has cracked the top 25 since Marquette dropped out several weeks ago, and Uconn is one of just three ranked teams still undefeated in conference play. The only others are No. 16 Gonzaga in the West Coast Conference and No. 25 Princeton in the Ivy League — and the Tigers are coached by former Uconn standout Carla Berube.

The top 10 saw major movement yet again after a slew of upsets in the Pac-12 and Big 12. Oregon State continues to climb, up to No. 9 after upsetting No. 10 UCLA in its third game with star forward Lauren Betts back from a four-game absence. Virginia Tech also moved up to No. 8 while NC State remained No. 6 thanks to undefeated weeks in the notoriously chaotic ACC. Meanwhile, a loss to No. 18 Utah dropped Colorado three spots to No. 11, and Kansas State fell from No. 7 to 10 after getting upset by Iowa State in overtime.

Uconn's wins over Xavier and Georgetown also earned senior forward Aaliyah Edwards her third Big East Player of the Week honors. Edwards averaged 21 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and two blocks across the two victories, and she is averaging a double-double in the Huskies' last 10 games.

After Creighton, the Huskies have just three more regular-season games remaining. They get five days off following four games in the last eight days before traveling to Chicago to face Depaul (12-16, 4-11) on Sunday.
