James E. Eggleston, 83, passed away on February 26 with his loving wife Marlene by his side. He was proud to have been in the Marine Corps from 1957–1960. Before his retirement he worked for Redland Brick Company for 47 years and then had his own brick staining business for a few years to keep him busy. In his younger years he took pleasure in playing baseball and hockey. He also loved to watch NASCAR Racing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaugh­ters. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Marlene, Daughter Dollene (Robert) Ewing; son James (Kandi), Granddaugh­ters; Angelina Vono, Nina Vono, Katherine Eggleston; Great-grandsons, Nicolas Vono-morin, Vincent Vono-morin; his sisters, Martha Heinbokel, Barbara Turcotte, Dorothy Mcnamara; his brothers, Donald Eggleston and Roy Eggleston along with several nieces and nephews. He is predecease­d by his parents Archie and Eva (Proulx) Eggleston, sisters; Gracie D’amario, Margie Guarisco, Madeline Hart Connor, Violet Daigneault and his brothers; Ray, Robert and Alfred Eggleston. Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4–7 pm at Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St, Windsor Locks, CT 06096. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church, 446 Mountain Rd, Suffield,ct 06078.
