Police make 2nd arrest in violent armed robbery of jewelry store

Police have made a second arrest with a third expected this week in connection with a violent armed robbery of a Bridgeport jewelry store last June.

Jermaine Ogrinc, 38, of Bridgeport, who is currently in custody with the Connecticut Department of Correction on unrelated charges, was transported to Bridgeport Superior Court on Wednesday and served with a warrant, according to the Bridgeport Police Department.

Ogrinc faces charges of robbery and larceny, both in the first degree, in connection with the violent armed robbery of ABC Jewelry at 102 Boston Ave. on June 10, 2023.

He was arraigned on Wednesday and is being held on a courtset $750,000 bond.

Police allege that three masked men brandishing guns rushed into ABC Jewelry last June, forced three employees into the back room and pistol whipped and robbed them. The three also allegedly stole around $100,000 in gold jewelry after smashing display cases and ripping merchandise off the walls, according to police.

One of the employees sustained a broken rib in the robbery, while another sustained a head injury, according to police.

The men allegedly sped off in a getaway car that detectives later found and processed, police said.

Police previously arrested 32-year-old Adam Buster of Bridgeport at his job in Shelton on Friday and charged him with first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and first-degree larceny, according to police.

The third suspect has been identified as 50-year-old Michael Stinson of Bridgeport, who is currently in DOC custody on unrelated charges, police said. According to police, a habeas corpus petition has been filed with the court.
